In excess of 100 participated in the inaugural Birr Chamber of Commerce 10K Run. The premier staging of the Birr Chamber of Commerce 10K run was held in splendid Spring sunshine last Saturday in the heritage town of Birr. In excess of 100 people participated and thoroughly enjoyed what was a memorable occasion. The event was very well organised and this together with the fine weather and upbeat atmosphere helped to make the day such a success.
Registration, refreshments and facilities were provided at the old town hall which provided an ideal venue for participants to congregate prior to the gun and afterwards to retreat for a well deserved cuppa.It was a fair course, very well signposted and marshalled throughout.

Participants came from all parts including one from the U.S.A. who thoroughly enjoyed the occasion.A number of local walkers participated and have vowed to return next year as runners.
