The Beast of the East has been confirmed as Saturday the 19th of July
The swim will be in a local lake called Lough Dan, so at least with all swims it will be flat 😉 However from then on you need to be a mountain goat as the bike course is up and over the Sally’s gap, a truly stunning bike course but with some savage hills, not a course for a time trial bike as one of our members found out recently. Then it’s back to Lough Dan for good 10km road run with just one or two little hills!!
If you are looking for a real challange then this is the race for you but if this is your first ever olympic distance and you are not a strong biker then I would think long and hard before entering. We hope to open the race in April for entries so keep an eye on our web site for the online entry, we have had a lot of interest already in the race so it will fill up quickly.
