Ballyliffin coastal Challenge continues to grow

The Ballyliffin Coastal Challenge 10ml event went ahead on Easter Saturday attracted an enthusiastic crowd to the Inishowen village in the region of 650 on this occassion indicating the continuing attractivenesss of such an event . In its 3rd year it has shown an increase in numbers of walkers /runners /joggers year on year .

Starting in the picturesque village and heading into the Isle Of Doagh skirting the sea as it winds its way with Malin in the background though on this day the misty rain didnt enhance the view . Winner pretty much from gun to tape in a new record for the challenging course was Letterkenny fitness trainer Michael Black from Lac, Sportsworld Dublin athlete Paul O Connell 2nd and Foyle Valley man Pearse Mc Intyre 3rd .Womens winner was North Belfast visitor Judi Graham ,Aoife Quigley ,Crusaders 2nd and Roisin Diver ,Rosses ac 3rd . The race finishing on the Pollan Beach provided its own unique feature and with childrens races held this year for the first time drawing some 100 children to race on the Beach it all added to the fun family element .

The local organising committee did an excellent job once again aided by an enthusiastic group that excelled to produce a community event that is sure to grow and grow .
