Baldy Man 8km Run on Sunday

from Munster Express Sunday 28th December – Baldy Man 8km Race in Tramore at 12 noon, entries from 10.30am at Majestic Hotel. The main sponsors are FLI Environmental. Proceeds to Alzheimer’s Society – sponsorship cards available from Fintan Walsh 087-6508307. St.Stephen’s Day Runs

There are two runs over 2 and 5 miles at the Dungarvan GAA Centre starting at 11am, the proceeds go to Chernobyl Ireland. There will be no entry fee put participants are expected to make a donation towards the charity.

Waterford AC Fixture

On Friday evening last at the RSC there was a very enjoyable event for the juvenile members of Waterford Athletic Club. A great crowd of youngsters came along and several age groups had a sprint, a long jump and a ball throw and Santa came along with goodies also. The event was sponsored by Blue Wall Technology lets hope a similar event comes up in the future.

Walking News

The National 30k Race Walking Championships were held in Santry Demense Dublin last Saturday and Jamie Costin WWAC competed in the men’s event. He was in the silver medal position with 5k to go but had to withdraw due to stomach cramps.

In the open under age races Kate Veale WWAC won the 3000m at the same venue and her clubmate Joe Conway was second in the 5,000m.
