Everybody, get ready for the last race of the summer… again! Ashbourne’s popular annual 6 & 10km fun run will be held for a third year this August. All proceeds of the 2014 event will go towards Ashbourne’s Youth Café which is still currently in development but has made significant progress over the past several months.
Teenagers need a space where they can go to have fun with their mates, make new friends and unwind away from home and school pressures. The Ashbourne Youth Café has a solid, dedicated team of local people behind it with a vision of creating this haven. They have an understanding of both the needs and wants of our young people and they are relying on the help of the community to make the project a success.
Our ALL INCLUSIVE race, which is a chip timed event and also AAI certified, will take place on Sunday the 24th of August @ 11am. Registration is at the ASHBOURNECOMMUNITY CENTRE, with the race itself starting in the village and finishing back at the ommunity Centre.
We hope to attract participants from across the local community and further afield; everyone is encouraged to take part including the casual evening walker right the way through to the serious competitor. As the fundraiser is in aid of Ashbourne’s youth, we want to especially aim the run at teenagers, younger children and their parents! Parking is available in Tesco, Aldi and the Community Centre car parks!
