from Athletics Northern Ireland Armagh City and District Council in conjunction with Digby’s Restaurant, Killylea is pleased to announce the Armagh Adidas 10 Mile Road Race and 4 Mile Fun Challenge on Sunday 12th October commencing at 12noon from the historic Navan Fort.
When one thinks of fine food in a pleasant atmosphere in the Armagh area, most locals would be quick to highlight the appeals of Digby’s Bar and Restaurant, nestled in the hamlet of Killylea. This busy little establishment continues to grow its reputation through the hard work of Michael Macklin and this team of dedicated staff.
Armagh City and District Council and Armagh Athletic Club, organizers of the Armagh Adidas 10 Mile Road Race and 4 Mile Fun Challenge are grateful to Digby’s for their continued support of the event which is now in its 9th year. This event is growing from strength to strength each year with over 700 participants last year.
This event sees serious runners and those undertaking personal challenges from across Ireland for the 10 mile, whilst the 4 mile is aimed primarily at encouraging the local Armagh community to become involved, community groups, housing associations, work colleagues, schools and sports clubs. Participants can take part in the event by running, jogging or walking either for their own charity or the Mayors chosen charity.
Everyone who takes part in the event receives a free tee-shirt and goodie bag as well as the personal satisfaction of completing the course.
Michael Macklin, proprietor of Digby’s said, ‘We are pleased to be associated with the event at Navan as it helps bring individuals, clubs and families together in a fun and safe environment to challenge themselves for the prizes whist all the time raising much needed funds for charity”.
Commencing at 12 noon, fun running families can certainly make a day of it by leading the short distance to Digby’s for dinner or other needed refreshments.
