Run your Summer’s 5k PB on this fast course. 3RD ANNUAL KINNEGAD 5K ROAD RACE
This year’s Kinnegad 5K Race Coralstown/Kinnegad GAA will take place on Wednesday 11th July at 8pm. The Kinnegad 5k is an AAI permitted road race that promises to be an exciting event attracting a host of participants from elite runners to the recreational runner/ jogger and walker.
Chip Timing by Red Tag Timing for this years’ race will provide much opportunity for participants to chase down their elusive Summer 5K PB’s and results will be posted on www.redtagtiming.com later that night. The course is PB friendly, mainly flat with one downhill section which makes for fast times. With the start and finish lines on the Main St of Kinnegad, Co Westmeath there’ll be a very festive atmosphere with plenty of support for all participants from gathered spectators.
Parking, showers and changing facilities will be available at Kinnegad GAA Clubhouse. As will the post race refreshments.
Last year’s male race was won by Barry Minnock in a new course record 14.39 and Annette Kealy won the female race. With over 400 entries last year, this year’s race promises to be bigger and better.
With a large cash prize fund the Senior prizes with 1st place receiving €150. There are also Prize Categories: for Masters +40, +45, +50, +55 and +60. There are Junior Prizes (u19 as AAI rules). New this year is cash prize for breaking course record: Male 14.39 Barry Minnock (2012) and Female 17.18 Patricia Wlobarczyk ( 2010)
With entries for this year’s event gathering pace we are encouraging participants to register online on www.runireland.com €12. A limited number of entries will be available on the night at Kinnegad GAA Clubhouse between 5.30pm and 7.15pm. Junior entry is €8 on the night.
