from A.A.I Alistair Cragg got his track season off to the best possible start when he won the 5,000m at the big Stanford meet last night.
The race showed that he has put injury problems behind him and his interview afterwards showed that his preparations for the World championships in August are well on target.
This was a confident display by Cragg and his winning time of 13:22.36 saw him finish ahead of American Matt Tegenkamp who was second in 13:22.36.

Pole Vault PB for Wilkinson
Claire Wilkinson set a new pole vault PB on Saturday of 3.70m when finishing 2nd in a competition in Milan in Italy. Claire then had three narrow failures at 3.85m which is the qualifying height for the European U23 Championships.
The invite to the Milan competition came through Italian vaulter Sarah Semeraro who trained with Jim Alexanders squad in 2008 and who finished 2nd in the Irish Indoors at the Odyssey in 2008 .
Wilkinson’s next competition will be the AAI Games in Athlone on May 17th
