(VSF) and currently doing seminars regarding all aspect of improving sports performance. Al is the only strength coach who has worked in the NFL, NBA and Major League Baseball and he is also the only strength coach to have a World Championship ring from the NFL and NBA
Recently inducted into the USA Strength and Conditioning Hall of Fame in recognition of his accomplishments. As the former strength and conditioning coach of the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers, his program made a major contribution to the team’s 1982 Super Bowl Championship
Al has been the featured speaker at many coaching clinics, including the National Strength and Conditioning Association and National Athletic Trainers Association, has been the subject of numerous television, radio and newspaper interviews over his 35-year career and he has written many articles for major publications like Golf Digest, the National Strength and Conditioning Association Journal, as well as several conditioning manuals
Al has consulted with the San Francisco Giants, University of Alabama, Texas A&M, Denver Broncos, Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago White Sox, The Academy of Golf at Lakeway, Nicklaus Academy of Golf, Golf Digest School and the Los Angeles Lakers
Al Vermeil is a strength and conditioning coach based in America. He is the president of VSF – Vermeil Sports and Fitness, this company specialises in athletic assessment and training also provides occupational fitness programs.
VSF has worked with many big American teams for example the Chicago White Sox, San Francisco Giants, Denver broncos and the Los Angeles Lakers. Al helped develop future NBA all stars Scottie Pippen, Horace Grant, Charles Oakley and BJ Armstrong. He also assisted in prolong the careers of many players that enabled the Bulls to win 6 World Championships in 8 years. Such as John Paxson, Bill Cartwright, Steve Kerr, Tony Kukoc and Ron Harper. When the Bulls won 72 games and an NBA record, they were one of the oldest teams in the NBA yet ranked among the very top of the NBA for fewest injuries. Any player who started their career in the NBA with Bulls and stayed with Bulls for 3 or more years under Al’s program had average career of 14 years in the NBA.
Al is a graduate of Utah State class of 1968 graduating with a degree in Physical education and history; he went on to do his Masters in Kansas State University qualifying in 1970. More recently he was inducted into the USA Strength and Conditioning Hall of Fame.

Before he went in to the realm of professional coaching he was a very successful high school football coach. This shows his broad knowledge of the industry as he has worked at both spectrums and been successful at both also.
