Here comes another sufferfest of running! Following on from the success of Achill’s First ever marathon last August, here comes another sufferfest of running! The Achill Ultra, Full and Half Marathon event is back with all toenails in tact! August the 23rd will be a day for setting records. With views of Clare Island and wild Atlantic, the scenery is as breath taking as the climb.
This is a rolling & ‘lumpy’ looped course but doable with a enough courage & start line adrenaline… The Full Marathon runners will take in the sights twice, the Ultra will run the course 3 times to make up a distance of 39.3 Miles. This event is open to wheel chair participants, walkers, joggers & tri athletes looking for a good training run!
Of the work hard play hard ilk themselves, the directors will be throwing an after party & hoping all will be burning the candle at both ends afterwards!
