Local charities promoting team spirit in Galway COPE Galway and Enable Ireland will hold Galway’s first ever relay event next Thursday 21st July at 7pm in the Claddagh with the 5k Bay Relay. A fun challenge for runners, walkers & joggers alike, the 5k Bay Relay will involve completing a distance of 15km in a 3 person relay team on Salthill Prom. Cost of entry is €40 per team with each participant chipped and lots of prizes to be won.
There are 3 categories for this event:
A: Athletic/Triathlon Club Teams
Overall prizes for fastest teams 1st-3rd Place
Enter five ‘Club’ teams and win a prize for your club’s fastest team home
B: Corporate Teams
All team members must be employed by the one company/business/public body with prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd
C: General Public
Entrants not in the categories above to include: Friends/neighbours/family member/students/unemployed/members of other sporting/non-sporting clubs or organisations
Chip and race number collection on Thurs. 21st July will take place from 4-6.30pm in The Claddagh Hall. Race starts at 7pm sharp. Post-race party will be held in Monroe’s Tavern. For more information call Pamela at COPE Galway on 091 778750 or email [email protected].
