None There was an enthusiastic response once again for the 36th annual Finn Valley 5k with close to 500 checking in to either walk run in aid of charity . The challenge was led by world number 2 Vivian Cheruiyat ,Kenya who returned 16-14 as she strided round without undue effort as she prepares for a new years eve race in Spain . fastest man was the local athlete Kieran Carlin . Winner of the event was Helena Mc Daid ,Drumkeen now domiciled in Wales a former Valley club member . Race organiser Mark Connolly expressed thanks to all the elements that continues to secure a successful community event . Conal Gallen was one of many celebrities answering the call to walk in what is a busy period for him . Also in attendance former world single sculls rowing champion Sinead Jennings with thoughts of the Beijing olympics are uppermost in her thoughts for 2008 and everyone wishes her well in the quest to get to the start line in China .
