The 6th annual Monaghan 10 and 5 Miler Road Race takes place between the rolling drumlins of Monaghan Town and the scenic village of Ballnode. The race begins at Monaghan Leisure Centre and takes the runners through the streets of Monaghan. After a loop of the town you go past the start point and leave Monaghan for the village of Ballinode. The picturesque village allows for some wonderful views but all to brief as the runner begins their return to Monaghan via the rolling countryside roads. The race finishes back at Monaghan Leisure Centre where all participants will be treated to the use of the shower, pool and sauna facilites as well as food and drinks in the Marquee.
This race becomes more popular ever year and an ideal preparation for Dublin Marathon. The shorter 5 mile event is ideal for those wishing to improve their distance. Each participant gets a race Head Buff plus all finishers receive a medal. Early registration avails of the reduced price until the 1st July 2016. Keep er Fit
