Coach Of The Year The 2008 National Athletics Awards will take place in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Santry on November 15th. The Awards Selection Committee is now inviting nominations for The Coach / Mentor of the Year for 2008.
The Committee is looking for as wide a set of nominations as possible in order to ensure that every chance is given for this critical input to the success of the sport to be recognised.
We suggest that nominations can come from individual athletes, clubs or possibly in the case of younger athletes, from the parents of those athletes.
The nomination should be supported by a written submission which gives some detail on the following areas:
– Time spent coaching / mentoring
– Respect of the athletes for the coach / mentor
– Dedication to the cause and willingness to go the “extra mile”
– Results achieved by the coach / mentor
– Contribution to the club
– Any other information which is relevant?
The closing date for nominations is September 20th. Nominations can be sent by post to the office at Unit 19 Northwood Court, Northwood Business Campus, Santry, Dublin 9 and marked for the attention of the National Athletics Awards Committee or submitted by email to [email protected]
Interest for tickets for this event has already been strong. Tickets have been maintained at 2007 prices and are €100 each. A table will generally consist of 10-12 people.
