10K Rás Spraoí

0

Following on from last years very successful event, the Killygarry 10k Road Race, Fun Run & Walk takes place on Sunday 18th May 2014 at 1pm. This event is organised to raise funds for Club Developments at Killygarry GAA, and for the worthy causes of our associated charities .

Every effort is being made to ensure it is bigger and better than last year, with its scenic but challenging route, (who can forget Cavan’s own version of ‘heart-break hill’ at the 9km mark!). A 5km variant will also be included this year. This will appeal to those in training for the Flora Mini Marathon/Walkers/Newcomers, while the 10km promotes itself as an excellent base to commence the popular running season or marathon training for local clubs. The Rás Spraoi 10km takes a unique route that won’t disappoint!

Both routes starts and finishes at the Meadow View, Dublin Road, Cavan. The Course will be accurately measured with each KM marked along the route. Map & Route details attached.

Entry Fees: 10K-Adult €15, 10K-Youth €5, 5K-Adult €10, 5K-Youth €5 – Register online up to 6pm on Friday 16th May 2014 via www.runireland.com or you can register before the race on Sunday 18th May from 11.00am until 12.00pm at the Meadow View, Dublin Road, Cavan.

Please note Registrations on Race Day will be as Follows: 10K-Adult €20, 10K-Youth €8, 5K-Adult €15, 5K-Youth €8.

Timing Chips will only be available for Online Registrations, however there will be a Digital Clock at the Start/Finish Line.

Now for the Fun Part (and what makes Rás Spraoi unique to regular runs in the area) – As the name ‘Ras Spraoi’ suggests this is also a fun run, and the fun last year took place at the start and finish line with the carpark in the Meadow View filled with 100’s of supporters, excited children, refreshments, a music lorry blasting out the latest hits to encourage the runners and the (still talked about) free ice-cream for every participant (supporters weren’t left disappointed either!). There is something for all the family so come along on Sunday 18th May and be a part of Rás Spraoi 2014!!

The run is open to all levels of running experience and welcomes walkers – it’s about Community spirit and getting people active and into fitness, whilst raising awareness and funds for our associated charities.

Plenty of Refreshments will be available after the run at the Meadow View Cavan, followed by Prize Giving – The first 3 men and the first 3 women past the finish line will receive a prize.

Further information and updates on the Run will be posted on www.runireland.com and www.10krasspraoi.com and our “Rás Spraoi” Facebook Page.
