Woodie’s DIY Road Relay Championships of Ireland

from A.A.I Sunday, April 11th, 2010 Raheny Shamrocks AC dominated at the Woodie’s DIY Road Relay Championships of Ireland, held in glorious sunshine in Raheny, Dublin. Raheny took four of the five titles on offer with Tullamore Harriers spoiling the clean sweep by taking the Master over 50 title.

 

Annette Kealy was part of both the Seniors Women’s and Master Women’s teams for Raheny who took the titles in 21:52 minutes and 23:14 respectively. The Raheny senior men led from gun to tape to retain their title in 37:53 minutes from a Crusaders team that included Beijing Olympian, Thomas Chamney.

At the IAAF Walking Grand Prix in Rio Maior, Portugal, silver world medalist, Olive Loughnane failed to finish while Colin Griffin placed 11th in 1.23.53 a new PB for him by 19 seconds.
