Mauro Lafechi made light work of the opposition to win the Munster novice title at Turnpike near Thurles today. The Italian native, resident in Cork less than a month, is better known for his exploits in mountain running and road racing. The women’s race was just as decisive as Michelle Finn stormed to victory.
The under 18 races saw Shane Quinn continue on his winning ways to finish well clear of Liam Markham, while Beth Walsh came late to take the lead for the first time in the last 400m to win well from long time leaders Serena Moloney and Eimear Tangney.
