Started 6 years ago by local Tara lads James Gibbons and Shay Sheridan, the Tara Dawn Run is an annual event held in or around the Summer Solstice on the historic Hill of Tara, Co Meath. The difference with this 4km fun run is the starting siren goes off at 4am ………… in the pitch dark! By the time the first runners cross the finish line the sun is rising and bathing the Hill in a warm golden glow. It’s an amazing feeling and one that needs to be experienced. All ages participate in this fun family event with kids, parents and grandparents all joining together for this unique fun run. On finishing, everyone is a winner, as each participant gets a legendary Tara Dawn Run Sausage Sambo cooked on our massive BBQs! Live music entertains the crowd and to top off that feeling of well being all proceeds are in aid of the Children’s Medical and Research Foundation at Our Lady’s Childrens’s Hospital, Crumlin.
