Sunday 7th June in Enniscorthy, County Wexford Slaney Olympic AC look forward to welcoming a big field of runners and walkers to Enniscorthy for the annual Strawberry Half Marathon and 5 Mile Races. This year the Half Marathon is also the County Wexford Half Marathon Championship. The race is AAI permitted and is organised to the highest standards. The headline sponsor for this year’s race is Treacy’s Hotel, Enniscorthy.
Online entry is available here on runireland.com up to Friday evening, 5th June. Entry forms are also available at My Sport, Castle St, Enniscorthy. Entry for the Half Marathon is €25 and for the 5 Mile is €15. On race weekend prices go up by €5. Registration and number pick up will be at the 1798 Centre on Saturday 6th from 2-5pm and on Sunday 7th in the Riverside Park Hotel from 7.30am.
The Half Marathon starts at 10am and the 5 Mile Race and Walk one hour later. The races start and finish on the promenade on the banks of the River Slaney adjacent to the hotel.
All finishers will receive a specially comissioned Strawberry Half Marathon Mug and will get a voucher for free tea/coffee and sandwiches in the Riverside Park Hotel where the prizegiving will take place at 1pm. There are prizes galore with €200 cheque and a €50 shoe voucher for the 1st man and woman in the half marathon. There are also prizes in all veteran categories.
