Run Kildare is delighted to announce that we are well on our way to reaching our target of 3,500 plus runners attending all three events. There are to date a little under 2,000 runners have already signed up for the 10k, half and full marathon. We are delighted to engage Woodies DIY as the title sponsors of the Run Kildare 2012 event, it’s great to have them on board as they have been interested in supporting athletics in Ireland for many number of years now. This ensures that the future of Irish running thrives and continues advancing. Tina gates news reader from 98FM has signed up to run the half marathon. Her story is a great inspirational story – she has lost over 3 stone in 2 years! Well Done to Tina, running the half marathon is sure to keep her fitness and training regime on track. Dr Eddie and Karl from operation transformation also appreciate getting the healthy balance right. They are making their way through the training plan for the full marathon – well done to them! Our three title charities the Special Olympics Ireland, Marie Keating Foundation and The Society of St Vincent de Paul will all have people running on their behalf at the event. Other charities that wanted to be affiliated with the Run Kildare event are: Barretstown, The Jack and Jill foundation, The Irish Cancer Society, ISPCC, Pieta House, The Asthma Society of Ireland, Concern Worldwide, Bone marrow Trust, and The Rape Crisis Centre.
