Hello all There was a great turnout (291 finishers) at Sandymount last night for a very enjoyable race.
Paul O’Connell (IT Consultant) got away early from previous winner, Dave Byrne (KIT) and Paul Gibbons (An Post) and won by a comfortable margin. Crona Brady (Accountants) won her first BHAA race with plenty to spare over Orla Gormley (Aer Lingus). Orla just managed to get in ahead of Mary Finn (Dublin Hospitals) with only two seconds to spare.
Results are attached.
The race was notable for the fact that seven of the first twenty finishers were over 45 and over 50.
Charlie Cronin and his ESB colleagues put on a great event and are deserving of our thanks. Well done.
Our next race is the Government Services five mile road race at Dunboyne next Tuesday 16/06/09 at 8pm. More details later.
The next race after that is the Army all-terrain race on Tuesday 30/06/09 at 8pm. Note that this race will be held in the Phoenix Park, not at the Curragh.
Bye for now.
