Welcome to Westport – Ireland’s Outdoor Sports Capital The newly formed Westport Branch of Pulse Triathlon Club is hosting the Westport Triathlon on Saturday 16th July. This spectacular route was tested out last year as part of the 25.5 Series of Triathlons and this year Pulse are delighted to take over the organization of this Sprint Triathlon event.
Part of what makes a triathlon memorable is the scenic route and we have made one significant change to last year’s course which is to take most of the run route through the grounds of Westport House
The triathlon begins with a 750m swim at the pier in Westport and then cyclists will follow a very picturesque out and back route (22.5km) along the coast road, passing the majestic Croagh Patrick en route. A good section of the return cycle route is on a wide cycle pathway. The 5km run through Westport House is the finishing touch and adds to the family friendly atmosphere that has become the synonymous with Pulse Tri Club races.
