Hi Guys, A little bit less than a week before the first annual 100km in the country. Portumna 100km will be an annual event and you are the first ones to run a 100km AAI run race in Ireland open to the general public.
I attached the information pack again below and the updated carparking map, there are no changes in it, I just added the Bibs Colour and parking map. The Event has a AAI permit and has a AIMS membership. People who enter online are guaranteed a T-shirt with the size they entered on the application form, the late entries will have whatever size we can provide as it is difficult to predict sizes in advance.
We will try to facilitate people who are travelling and want to register in the morning due to the number of people asking, we are not monsters so will help you as much as we can. So if you email us this week and let us know in advance it will help us, especially at 5:30am as we have lots of preparation to do. Same for Marathon runners which we will allow late registration / entries 9:30am not later.
We also have two boxes / bins for you to drop your personal food and refreshment, just put them in a bag numbered and Named. No1 drop is for the finish line area (A on the map), and No2 (G on the map) will be at the forest car park. Your team will only be able to attend to you in the allocated zones.
I am very proud that this event will be held in Portumna town and believe me when I say we worked really hard to make it as nice as possible. So hopefully everything will go smoothly.
The Music list that some of you submitted on boards.ie and runireland.com is 80% done from i-tune, and whatever your time will be on the day it will be an achievement, and our team will be proud of you ! Remember no personal music player please, it will help me to follow rules from international bodies I wish to apply to in the future. HR, Garmin are allowed.
Finally a small picture attached of where to park and walk to, which I resize to fit your iphone or any phones which can be handy.
Below are the special rates from the hotel, so feel free to give them a call. And feel to share this email to anybody with an interest in Ultra running or marathon.
Thanks and regards
