
Pink in the Park In Aid of NBCRI Sponsored by Coolock Artane Credit Union Sunday 27th of July at 11.00am – St. Anne’s Park, Raheny, Dublin 9. Pink in the Park is a 5km walk / run in aid of the NBCRI (National Breast Cancer Research Institute) in association with our main sponsor Coolock Artane Credit Union. We invite all levels of fitness to walk / run with us for a cure. Lace up for our 5km walk / run with vibrant pink laces provided by us. Pink laces will be available for collection by all participants at the meeting point outside the Red Stables in St. Anne’s Park from 9.30am – 10.15am on the morning of the walk / run. Goodie bags at finish line. There is a 250 participant limit, so please register early to avoid disappointment. Please support this cause to help make a difference. Please arrive between 9.30am – 10.15am for lace collection. The start line is 200m north from the centre point, adjacent to the model car racing circuit. All participants will be directed to the start line from our meeting point outside the Red Stables. Walk / run will commence at 11.00am sharp. Course Description A fast, flat, tree-lined course through the park’s extensive series of tarmac paths. Walkers / runners are to meet outside the Red Stables. The course, which follows an anti-clockwise direction, starts next to the model car racing circuit approx. 200m from the centre of the park. The route follows the path north, taking a left turn at the north end of the park, continuing westwards, before turning left around the perimeter of the golf course, heading south, then taking the next right around the tennis courts. The route continues westwards along the path, taking the next left going southwards,continuing onwards to meet the main avenue through the park, where it turns left again and proceeds eastwards along the main avenue. The course takes a left at the centre of the park, continuing over the footbridge before taking a final left turn back towards the model car circuit to conclude the first lap. Second lap follows the same circuit, but finishes in the centre of the park (prior to the left turn at centre of park). The start and finish points will be in the centre of the park, at the intersection point of all the main pathways running through the park. Facilities The Tir na nOg Caife and Red Stables market are located adjacent to the main car park and is close to the run start / finish. Tir na nOg provide hot/cold beverages, cakes, salads, sandwiches and soup. Getting There by Public Transport Getting There by Dublin Bus: Take the 130 bus from Lower Abbey St. towards Castle Avenue: Stop #1750 on Mt. Prospect Ave. opposite Red Stables. Getting There by Train: Take the DART to Raheny Station. Exit DART station and turn right, walk straight on along Station Road continuing through the main cross roads, down the hill and on through the village. Turn left at Watermill Road, pass roundabout and park entrance is on right. Follow path through to centre of park (allow 15-20 mins total). Getting There on Foot: Via Red Stables entrance (Mount Prospect Avenue, South side of Park): Enter park and follow path,to the Red Stables (red-brick building) on your right. Via Sybil Hill Road entrance (West side of Park): Follow main avenue through the park, travelling west to end of avenue towards Red Stables (red-brick building) Via All Saints Park entrance (North side of Park): Enter park, follow path straight ahead, keeping golf course to the left. Turn left at intersection with central avenue through the park. The meeting area is outside the Red Stables to the wast end of the main avenue. Via Watermill Road entrance (Northeast side of Park): Enter park near roundabout intersection with All Saints Road. Follow tree-lined path through park, following path to the right, then continuing straight, turning left over footbridge and into centre of park and main avenue. Getting There by Road: From Dublin City Centre via Clontarf Road (R807): Follow Clontarf Road out along coast from Fairview, passing wooden bridge to Bull Island. Turn left at traffic lights at Mount Prospect Avenue, follow road for approx 4/500m, Red Stables car park is located on right hand side. Please park responsibly and please respect the local residents car parking.
