
Sunday 27th July 2010 The 2010 Women’s Mini Marathon Galway is fast approaching. This 10km event for walkers, joggers and runners will take place along the beautiful Salthill Prom with views over Galway Bay. Registration is still open but places are limited so it is advised to register today.
The Mini Marathon is being organised by Galway Simon Community with the assistance of the Galway City Sports Partnership, and is sponsored by Bon Secours Hospital, NRG, Avonmore and The Connacht Tribune.
The race will commence on Sunday 27th June at 11am from Southpark. The Route will take participants along the prom as far as Blackrock. The route takes a right turn up the challenging Threadneedle Road and left along Kingston Road. The tough part of the route is over at this stage and participants enjoy a long decline as far as Knocknacarra Road. From here the route takes a left along Knocknacarra Road and another left at KC Blakes. The rest is plain sailing as participants can enjoy the scenery back along the Prom overlooking Galway Bay. The race will finish back at SouthPark. Total Distance: 10km.
All participants will receive a medal and T shirt and the race is chip timed by Red Tag Timing.
