from Triathlon Ireland Triathlon Ireland are offering adults who are new to triathlon an opportunity to develop their skills in cycling, running and transitions in a training camp being held on 14th & 15th February 2009.
For those new to Triathlon, this is a great opportunity to give the sport a try and meet others. All are welcome.
This training camp would be especially suitable for people taking part in a duathlon, but would be of great benefit for anybody looking to also race in a triathlon.

Please see below for further details…..

This training camp would be especially suitable for people taking part in a duathlon, but would be of great benefit for anybody looking to also race in a triathlon.

At the camp, you will be divided into ability groups and individual goals will be discussed. The camp will be taken by two very experienced Level 2 and Level 3 coaches who will give you two full days of training sessions, both classroom based and practical.

On day two, we will run a mini-Duathlon where you will go through a pre-race warm up, bike racking/transition set up etc. This will only be a short duathlon, aimed at giving you enough confidence to complete a duathlon.

There is a duathlon being held at Punchestown Racecourse in Naas on the following weekend, 22nd February. The distances are 3.2km run, 20km bike, 3.2km run. This would be an ideal opportunity for anyone who is new to the sport, to attend the training weekend and then participate in the race the following week. The race entry fee is 17 euro. Entering the duathlon is optional, but we would highly recommend it as the training weekend will be aimed at preparation for this race. For further details of the duathlon, please go to www.naaswheelworxtc.com where you can also enter.

Everything you learn over the weekend can be implemented in the duathlon and any problems ironed out pre-race.

Please see below for a full schedule of the camp and for details of how to book your place on the training camp. This weekend is only open to Triathlon Ireland members.
