Woodies DIY Half Marathon Challenge – Waterford Sept 3rd-1pm Waterford AC play hosts to the National Half Marathon Championships on Saturday Sept 3rd with a 1 o’clock start. It will be a busy weekend as the week long Harvest Festival begins on the 3rd also so there will be lots to do for athletes and their family and friends.
Waterford is seen as an ideal venue due to the fantastic facilities; a good flat fast course and Waterford AC are renowned for their excellent organisational skills when hosting such events, particularly their annual December Half Marathon. The race is also open to funrunners capable of running the 13.1 miles with a guide time of 3 hours or better: (stewarding will finish at 4pm). Registration is through www.athleticsireland.ie and Wateford AC have negotiated a reduced rate of 18 euro (or 2 for 35) for athletes and their family for entry into the BIG STREET Barbeque GIG taking place from 3pm to 11pm on sept 3rd.
