National 30km Men and 20km Women Racewalking Championships 2008.

from AAI website Irish Olympians Robert Heffernan and Olive Loughnane ended the year in fine style by adding another Irish title to their collections at the championships held in Santry Demesne on Saturday last. Heffernan won the 30k title, but had to give second best to his training partner Francesco Fernandez from Spain, who was competing as a guest, after a closely fought race.

Olive Loughnane won the 20k title easily, but second placed Laura Reynolds qualified for next year’s European under 23 championships with another fine effort from the Mohill athlete.
