MOUNTSHANNON 10K ROAD RACE AND 5K FUN RUN
The 10K Route starts at the school. The 1st and 2nd km take the participant in the direction of the village with a lap of the harbor. Once back in the village the route follows the R352 to the Woodpark Junction just over 3.5km outside the village. Turning right the route continues through Woodpark Forest Park. At the exit of the Forest Park onto the Cappaduff/Middeline Road the route takes a left turn in the direction of Middleline. Just beyond the 5K mark the route again takes a turn to the left onto the Clounty stretch. At the end of the Clounty stretch the route takes another left turn back onto the R352 in the direction of the village. Just past the 8K point the route takes a left turn through Woodpark to the Cappaduff Road at the 9K Mark. Taking a right turn it is then a straight run back to the school finishing at the traffic lights at the 10K mark.
The 5.3K Fun Run Route follows the same path as the 10K up to the Woodpark exit. At that point the Fun Run takes a right turn finishing back at the school at the 5.3K Mark. The Fun run is a timed race with race times at the 5.3K Mark at the school.
