The Monivea Half Marathon and 5K take place this year on the 27th of June. This is the sixth annual running of the 5K and the third half marathon. We have a couple of exciting new developments this year – All participants in both races will receive a souvenir tee shirt and also the Half Marathon will be the official County Galway AAI Championship Half for 2015. There will be Gold, Silver and Bronze Galway County medals to be competed for in addition to the usual cash prizes in all categories. There will also be Senior men’s and women’s county team medals.

Race number pickup is in the Community Centre between 9:00am and 10:30am on the day. Registration will also be available at the same time.
Entry fee for the 5K is €18 on-line and €20 on the day.
On-line entry fee for the half marathon is €25 until the 20th April, €30 up to the 31st May and €35 thereafter. Entry on the day will be €40, so it pays to enter early!
Both routes start and finish in front of the Community Centre in the village. The half marathon will start at 11:00 am and the 5K will start 5 minutes later. Toilets, changing facilities, gear storage and showers will be available. Tea, coffee and snacks will also be provided in the Community Centre after the races.
All participants will have chip timing supplied by Red Tag Timing. Individual results will be communicated by text shortly after the race finish and all results will be on the Red Tag website later in the afternoon https://www.redtagtiming.com/
There will be Male and Female prizes in the following categories: Senior – first, second and third, Over 40, Over 50, Over 60 and junior.
Both races are AAI certified and take place on a course measured with a Jones counter.
