Fionnuala McCormack (Kilcoole) finished an excellent fifth in a world class field at the Cross Internacional de Atapuerca in Burgos, Spain yesterday. The Wicklow woman is stepping up her preparations ahead of the National Cross Country Championships in Abbotstown later this month and European Cross Country Championships in Chia, Italy in December.
The 8km race was won by Senbere Teferi of Ethiopia in 24:45 with McCormack 48 seconds behind.
