The club have also organised a weekly training session specially for this tour: Training spins are on each Wednesday, Ladies only group meet at Carraroe School Car Park at 6.30pm each Wednesday evening. With about three weeks to go to the event now is a good time to get started. All levels will be catered for and training plans will be drawn up for all those who require them in the coming weeks.
The Tour on 29th of September:
Participants can enter and register on the morning from 10 am and collect their "goody bag" and get a short briefing prior to the event. The tour will depart The Sligo Park Hotel at 11am and head for Dromahair in the Carraroe direction. On reaching the picturesque village of Dromahair the women will be treated to a welcome complimentary meal break with a variety of food and drinks on offer.
The route then takes the tourers via Innisfree crossroads to the next rest-stop at Hazelwood. Here the cyclists can get a chance to re-group before taking the final downhill spin into Sligo. The total distance for the tour is about 40 Kilometres so with a few rest stops this should not prove to be beyond even the most novice of cyclist.
