This Years Hurleyhoey 10Km takes place on March 5th at 11.00 a.m. in St. Joseph"s Doora\Barefield G.A.A. Grounds, Gorteen,Ennis, Co. Clare. Since it began two years ago the run\walk has raised over € 65,000 for local based charities.One of the themes of the run is to " Run In Memory of Your Loved Ones" which provides a unique opportunity for the walker , jogger or runner an ideal time to remember families and friends – passed and present. A special Hurleyhoey candle is provided to all who compete the event.The Run\Walk begins in the G.A.A. Grounds and loops around Doora returning to the G.A.A Grounds on a flat finish, changing facilities are provided in the clubhouse whilst the food and refreshments provided by the local ladies are exceptional.
The run will be chip timed . The course has been accurately measured and AAI permit approved. The two chosen charities are Slainte An Chlair and RNLI – Kilrush.
The run provides a mix of top quality athletes where some P.B."s are posted whilst many participants also compete their first run\walk in Hurley\Hoey from many meet and train and beginner groups in the local area and one of the highlights is the participation levels of families, other participants and runners travel from various counties to compete and weekend in Clare. The distance is AAI measured and chip timing is provided.
