from BHAA After the disappointment of the cancelled Trinity track races, the weather relented long enough for runners not to get soaked during the race or cool-down. The fact that there was a deluge shortly afterwards just didn’t matter.
There were 190 finishers who enjoyed a well-organised race, thanks to the efforts of Declan Horgan, Barry Glennon and colleagues at Intel.
It was a competitive race up front with Padraig Mac Criostail (Department of Justice) just edging ahead towards the end to beat Paul Cowhie (CMS), Stephen McKeigue (Army) and Peter Mooney (NUI Maynooth).
In the women’s section, Orla Gormley took the honours, ahead of Mary Finn (Dublin Hospitals) and Kathleen O’Callaghan (Irish Life and Permanent).

Full results in the attached pdf file. Note also that the database of results is building up nicely on the results website at results.bhaa.ie so you can see how you have done in all races in 2009 so far. Paul O’Connell has been doing great work on this – in between winning the odd prize. I see that Paul won the Dublin Docklands race last week, so congratulations on that Paul.

Our next race will be the ESB beach race on Tuesday 9th June 2009 at Sandymount Strand at 7.30pm. This will be a 5km race and is always an enjoyable event so make a note to bring your running gear to work that morning.
Bye for now.
