Lough Furnace 10km (Newport, Mayo) This 10k road race is in its 2nd year and takes place just outside Newport. The course is a challenging hilly circuit around the fabulous scenery of Lough Furnace. A hidden gem on quiet country roads and with a short section on the Great Western Greenway cycle/walking track.
Date set is 21st October – Sunday – at 1pm The course has been measured and is AAI certified.
Race starts and finishes at Derrada Community Hall just off the Mulranny road. Tea/ Coffee will be provided here afterwards for the prize giving. Please note that parking here is limited so we will operate a shuttle bus from Newport town and would ask entrants to either car share or take the free shuttle bus to avoid parking difficulties and delays to the start of the race Entry online.
