Focus Ireland Triathlon

0

The 2009 Focus Ireland Triathlon will take place at Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2. Grand Canal Square, an exciting new urban space in Dublin’s Docklands, was opened in June 2007. The square is located at Grand Canal Dock on the south side of the river Liffey between Sir John Rogerson’s Quay and Pearse Street.

The 750m swim will take place in Grand Canal basin, the basin is managed by Waterways Ireland who are the guardian of Ireland’s inland waterways. The swim will be followed by a lapped 20km cycle along Dublin’s historic quays taking in the Customs House, the newly renovated CHQ and the planned U2 tower. The 5km run will start at aptly named Misery Hill, will take participants towards Ringsend Park, across the East link and back to Grand Canal Square via the quays.

This year the aim is to raise €200,000 for the work of Focus Ireland and need your help. To complete the challenge you need to swim, cycle and run and raise a minimum of €250 (or €550 for a team) in sponsorship to support the work of Focus Ireland.

Starting Time: 9:00 AM. All participants must be registered, body marked and have pick up their timing chip by 8.30 AM.
