Fingal Triathlon Club is proud to present the new ‘Fingal Race Series’

3 Duathlons (1 National Championship) (Junior Races)

1 Triathlon (Try a Tri, Sprint, Olympic and Junior Races)

1 Aquathon

All our cycle stages in our races will be on closed roads

The series is 5 races, we are offering significant discounts for entries into the race series.

Club discounts available where clubs will pay for the participants in one transactions

The club discount is not available on the race package price

‘King and Queen of Fingal Race Series’ – Along with prizes for each individual races there will be an overall prize for top male and female of the race Series. The prize will be €500 cash each. Scores will be allocated to the first 20 winners of each race in the following fashion 1st in each gender 20 pts, 2nd in each gender 19pts, 3rd in each gender 18pts, 20th in each gender 1pt. If there is a tie for first place the athlete with the most 1st place finished will be deemed the winner, this will follow to 2nd place finishes if 1st place finishes do not separate. Athletes must do all 5 races to be in the King and Queen of Fingal Race Series.

 

Duathlons:

 Duathlons will take place in the grounds of the magnificent grounds of Ardgillan in Skerries Co Fingal. Ardgillan Castle and Demesne is set in spectacular parklands overlooking the Irish Sea with a magnificent view of the Mourne Mountains and the north Dublin coastline.
The park covers an area of 200 acres of wild woodland walks, sheltered picnic areas and rolling lawns and meadows.
The park is dominated by Ardgillan Castle which includes a coffee shop and exhibitions. The restored Walled garden includes a herb garden, vegetable potager and extensive ornamental plant collection. Other important attractions include the formal Rose Garden, The National Plant Collection of Shrubby Potentillas with 200 varieties, a large restored Victorian Conservatory and an Herbaceous Border.
 

Race 1 – is now a world qualifying race for 2014 world duathlon championship in May

Race 2 – is now part of the newly formed national duathlon series.

Race 3 – is also part of the new national duathlon series.  It is also national championship for adult and juniors.

 

Triathlon
Our Triathlon will host 3 races plus Junior races
Try a Tri, Standard and Olympic distances.
We are currently in discussions with the authorities on the confirmed route and hope to release this in the next 2 weeks. This route will  have road closures
We are very confident we will bring you a triathlon course that is very challenging and rewarding for every level of athlete.

Aquathon
Aquathon is scheduled for Wednesday 13th August at 7.15pm. The location will be decided in the coming weeks, it will either be the Spring Boards at Red Island, Skerries, and the run element will be along the promenade and finish back at Red Island or it will be in the Malahide/Portmarnock area.

Refunds
Refunds will only be considered where one element of a discipline is cancelled in advance of the day of the event.  If a swim is cancelled in the triathlon it will be replaced by a run.
