National inter club junior cross country champion Kevin Dooney (Raheny Shamrock AC) made his debut for Yale University on Saturday with a fourth place finish in the Fordham University Invitational. The race was held at Van Cortlandt Park in New York in heavy rain and strong winds, which should have gone some way to make him feel at home!!
He follows in the footsteps of his brother Conor who has just graduated from Yale.
Eimear Black (Ballymena & Antrim AC) opened her cross country season with a second place finish at the Nassaney Invitational in Smithfield Rhode Island.
Meanwhile, Paul Robinson (St. Coca’s AC) was fifth in the 1,500m at the Rieti IAAF World Challenge in a time of 3:39.40 behind Kenyan Silas Kiplagat who won in 3:31.86. This was Robinson’s fourth time under 3:40 for 1,500m this season.
