Medal placings Uneven Age and Novice Cross Country Championships in Killybegs. Yet again this week we were blessed with the weather, with the sun shining and another big turnout for a sport and a County Championships which gets bigger every year. Another 300+ athletes in the juveniles and large fields of runners in the Novice led to yet another successful weekend of athletics in the county.
All 10 clubs in the county were represented here today along with a number of visiting clubs including a large contingent of Omagh runners, along with representation from Ballymena & Antrim and Enniskillen. Yet again, the visiting clubs added an extra dimension and dynamic to our county championships which will benefit both them and athletes from the county when it comes to Ulster competition in a few weeks time. Thanks to everyone who turned out for what was an exellent days competition, some great individual races, close team finishes and valuable athlete experience under the belts coming into the Ulsters.
Thanks to the Killybegs club for hosting this event. Thanks also to the various club and County Board offcials whose help ensured the event ran off in a timely and efficient manner.
Finally, good luck to our clubs and athletes in their preparation for Ulster competition in a few short weeks.
