On the 10th February 2009, Daniel Kingston, 25 years of age, lost his courageous battle against hodgkins lymphoma. Daniel was the youngest child of Vincent and Julien having four older sisters- Fiona, Catherine, Juliet and Claire. He fought his disease with bravery and dignity and he has left behind a great and lasting legacy to those who loved him so dearly.
Last year the inaugural Daniel Kingston 5km road race took place in Macroom where over 740 people took to the streets. The event was fitting tribute to remember Daniel in his home town.
The event is scheduled to take place this year on Thursday 30th June at 8:00pm where a very large turnout is anticipated again. The event takes place in partnership with the BHAA (Business Houses Athletic Association). Great prizes are guaranteed for all age categories and refreshments galore afterwards for all the race participants.
