Cortoon Rock the Roads 2013 – Galway Founded in 1888, Cortoon Shamrocks GAA Club have dedicated most of their 125 years to Gaelic football. This year, as part of their 125 celebrations they’ve decided to also look at the Athletic aspect of the Association.
On Saturday, 21 September they’re holding their inaugural 4 Mile Road Race and 3K Fun Run. The 4 mile circular route runs through the heart of the parish while the 3k is along the Cortoon road. Both routes are relatively flat so they should pose little challenge for the novice or accomplished participant and its expected that it will be a very quick pace for the 4 miler. Athletes of all ages can participate, with the option of free registration for Under 16s for the fun run & reduced Fun Run rate for families.
