Cope Ocean Race Triathlon Free Training Session

0

Cope Ocean Race Triathlon Last night was the third training session for the Cope Triathlon on the 23rd of May. Like every Thursday evening at 7pm from the Salthill Car Park, we meet and train in a relax atmosphere. It is interesting that in a group you do things you would not do on your own. Last Night it was raining, and from last week experience of cold water in which we stayed for 5min, we did get in and had a completely different experience. After a few minutes, the water was really enjoyable, we execute some drills such as turning around the buoys, talked about safety issues, wetsuit and the new comers received a free silicone swimming cap.

I found the people in the group very interested in the training, not at competitive level but just meet and train at a comfortable pace, meeting new people and getting out of the usual gym, get some fresh air whatever the weather is. I always say I own the first Outdoor Gym in the country!

As a coach it is a nice experience, you can take part in the activities, which is nearly impossible when you coach athletes toward performance as they need over 100% of you attention. The “meet and train Triathlon Group” is suitable for having a enjoyable session, talk while training, do different activities which include a couple of static jumps, core exercise but in a FUN environment, but nothing compulsory, you do what you like and as much as you want.

See you next Thursday at 7pm in Salthill Car Park
