Some residents have complained that they were being stopped from having local access to their homes and people from the county coming to the city for the day were unaware of the road closures.
Gardai have put extra extra members on duty at many of the road closures but many of the complains concern some civilian workers not being familiar with allowing local access for some residents.
A spokesperson for Galway City Council said that while they were not the organisers they had advertised the road closures in the usual formal manner.
However the spokesperson said that in light of the complains they will be having a debriefing session with the organisers and the Gardai after today’s event.
