Clonown Community Projects are pleased to announce the 3rd annual 10km run/walk to take place on the 29 April 2012. Walkers will start at 1.30 p.m. and runners will start at 3.00 p.m.
The course starts and finishes at Clonown Community Centre and the route is on a flat local road through scenic countryside. There will be water tables on the route and refreshments are available in Clonown Community Centre afterwards.
Walkers can enter online (€20.00) or register on the day at the Community Centre at 1.00 p.m. A donation box will be located at the Centre, and all donations are gratefully received. Please leave plenty of time to register.
Runners pay €20.00 and can pay online on runireland.com or pay on the day before 2.30 p.m. All runners must register to receive a race number at the Community Centre before the race starts at 3.00 p.m.
ONLINE ENTRIES WILL END AT 12.00 ON SAT 28 APRIL 2012.
Runners will be entered for:
• cash prizes for first three male and female runners (both categories receive €120, €80 and €50 each).
• gift vouchers for first male and female over 40s.
Clonown is located just 4 miles west of Athlone town. It is best to use the R446 (the old Athlone-Ballinasloe road) and turn in at Murphy’s Shop. For motorway users take exit 13 off the M6 and head west for Ballydangan. After 3 miles you will see Murphy’s Shop and turn left for Clonown. The village will be well signposted on the day.
