The Calcutta Run is an annual 10k run or walk, organised every year to help homeless children in Dublin and Calcutta through our charities GOAL and the Peter McVerry Trust.
This is our 13th year, and this year we are hoping to raise €200,000 thanks to support from people like you. The event is taking place on the Saturday 14th May 2011 so keep that date free. The run takes a route through the Phoenix Park, starting and finishing in the grounds of the Law Society, Blackhall Place, followed by a barbeque and a party for all your friends and family.
You can help by:
1) Participating by running or walking
2) Sponsoring a runner or walker
3) Making a donation to the Calcutta Run Fund using the MyCharity.ie link below www.mycharity.ie/donate_charityIndex.php?charityID=163
4) Becoming a Firm representative and enlist runners or walkers to participate in the event.
One of the most unique things about this event is the monster barbeque and party afterwards with up to 1,200 people enjoying some food and drink after their endevours. There is also plenty for the kids like bouncy castles and plenty of fun and games. So recruit your friends and family, and most of all enjoy a great day out with them while raising money for a good cause.
