
Media Information Brothers Eoin and Cormac McGovern from Fairview in Dublin, will this summer run from Dublin to Shannon along the Grand Canal route, completing the equivalent of a marathon per day over three days. Starting on Friday July 10th, they will stop off in Naas, Co Kildare and Tullamore, Co Offaly before reaching their final destination, Shannon, Co Offaly on July 12th. Anyone wishing to support can donate online now at www.aware.ie or host a local fundraising event to raise money for the organisation in honour of this impressive feat. Both brothers have experience of marathon running: Eoin (31) started running in 2007 and has since completed the Dublin, Cork and Connemara marathons as well as numerous 5k and 10k events. A racing cyclist for ten years before he took up running, Eoin is also training for the TriAthy triathlon in May this year. 29 year-old Cormac has a similar record: he is also competing in the TriAthy triathlon in May with Eoin and has completed the Dublin and Connemara marathons since taking up running in July 2008. Along with other 5k and 10k running events Cormac also continues to Mountain Bike in his spare time. Their aim is to raise in the region of €15,000, which will go to the maintenance and development of Aware’s services.
