Press Relese Race Saturday Planning is almost complete and the Rockets have been busy of late around Lough Muckno in Castleblayney completing the final preparations for the inaugural Blayney Rockets AC 10 mile road race on Saturday next. Support for the event has been massive both locally and further afield since it was originally planned earlier this year. The course has been measured and certified. The race will be chip timed and we will have medals for all finishers. We will have prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female and also for the first placed male and female finishers in the over 35, 40, 45, 50 & 55 categories. A warm Castleblayney welcome is assured for all participants and supporters!

 This 10 mile road race is on a scenic loop course a round Lough Muckno, Castleblayney. It is a predominantly flat course with just a few short early hills and will appeal to both competitive runners seeking a fast time and leisure runners seeking to obtain or improve their PB time. It is an accurately measured and certified course and is an AAI sanctioned event. The race will start at 11am. Registration will be open on the morning of the race from 9am until 10:30am. Registration will take place at St Marys Park, (Castleblayney Faughs GAA grounds), Castleblayney, on the Dublin Road out of town. Parking will be available at the grounds and at the neighbouring school. Further ample parking is available close by in the town centre close to the race start. Showers and changing facilities will be available at the race finish. Refreshments will be served to all participants at the end of the race. Presentation of prizes will take place at approx 1pm.
