
The distances are 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run.
Blackwater Triathlon Club,
Fermoy will welcome participants from all over Ireland to participate in the first ever Blackwater Triathlon, a unique triathlon event to be held by the side of the River Blackwater on Sunday 31st August 2008
The event is aimed at all levels – from newbie’s to experienced triathletes � with a downstream swim on the River Blackwater, an undulating cycle and some gentle hills in the run.

The route:
Blackwater Triathlon
Sprint Distance 750m/20k/5k
750m Swim:
Enter river by the entrance to Youth Centre then swim up Barnane on right side of river (310m) turning and swimming back up the river to the Youth Centre again on the right hand side.
20k Cycle:
Exit main park gates and cycle out the Mallow Rd. taking the first right turn to Glanworth. Before entering Glanworth take the Ballyhooly road and cycle through the village returning to Fermoy on the main Mallow Rd. Enter the park via the top entrance near the Protestant Chruch.
5k Run:
Exit main park gates and run out the Mallow Rd. to Ballyhooly. Turn by the Graveyard and run back into the finishing line by the Protestant Church on the main Mallow Rd.
