Bagenalstown Family Resource Centre 2nd annual Fun Run/Walk was a roaring success despite the bad weather with a fantastic turnout yesterday Sunday the 12th of August. Not even the bad weather was enough to dampen the spirits of the elite, with the creme de la creme of runners and walkers who turned up for Bagenalstown Family Resource Centres 2nd annual 10K Fun Run/Walk. The event enjoyed a massive turnout, and appears to be going from strength to strength judging on the caliber of athletes who tackled the scenic but grueling route by the river Barrow, up around Dunleckney and Curracruit before finishing back in Bagenalstown, far from the flat the athletes faced up hill challenges, bad weather and serious heat to make it even more pressing!

Winner Pat Byrne commented on what a difficult challenge the Bagenalstown route really was, not expecting to face so many difficult hills, with another well accomplished runner adding, "I expected Bagenalstowns Fun Run to be a walk in the park, just enough to stretch my legs, but you almost killed me, truly a fantastic and challenging route, will be back next year and much better prepared",

Lady winner Teresa Agar also stated it was a tough route but very enjoyable.

A truly challenging course that required determination, physical and mental strength!

Last but not least a massive thank you to all the stewards who helped on the day, wouldn’t have been possible without all your help, and it is down to each one of you that the Race was such a massive success for all the participants!
