Hi guys, Here is the final design of the flyer for the Athlone Flood Relief Run which I want everyone to send out to your contacts by email.
The event is being organised by the triAthlone team, in association with Athlone Regional Sports Centre. ALL proceeds raised will go to the St. Vincent de Paul Flood Relief fund. Please contact emma@triathlone.com if you want some numbered sponsorship cards, or an A3 poster to put up in your workplace. Otherwise, they are available from the locations listed.
I hope that we can all pull together for this fantastic cause – Having been on the ground last weekend and last week in Athlone, I can say for sure that things are unimaginably bad. So many people are out of their homes, and I can’t see how most of they will be back in for Christmas. Imagine families with small kids, elderly people living on their own; all with no homes for Christmas. I can’t even picture having to deal with that with my family home or family members. So I do feel it’s our responsibility, as people who benefit from the good aspects of Athlone’s River Shannon, and our riverside town to pull together to help those who need it most.
I’m hoping that this can be a vehicle for people who want to help out, but aren’t quite sure what to do. It’s a run for fun, but with a serious and very valuable motivation. I hope we can all come out and be part of showing our support!
